How Class Works
How Your Afternoon Goes
Detailing 101 runs four hours, from 1 to 5 PM, and most of it is spent with your hands on a real vehicle. Your instructor demonstrates each step, then coaches you as you do it yourself.
- 1:00 PM Classroom: detailing basics, tools, pH and protection
- 2:30 PM Hands on: exterior, wheels, interior and protection
- 4:30 PM Questions, review and your certificate

Beginner Auto Detailing Class FAQ
Do I need experience to take Detailing 101?
No. Detailing 101 is a beginner auto detailing class built for people with little or no experience.
What will I learn in this beginner auto detailing class?
Safe exterior washing, wheel and tire cleaning, interior detailing, detailing chemistry and pH, paint and interior protection, and how to use professional equipment like pressure washers, foam cannons, steamers and extractors.
How long is the class?
Four hours, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM: about 1.5 hours in the classroom, 2 hours hands on and 30 minutes of questions and review.
Will I work on a real vehicle?
Yes. You practice washing, interior cleaning and protection on real vehicles with your instructor coaching you.
When and where is Detailing 101?

Does Detailing 101 cover paint correction or ceramic coating?
No. Detailing 101 covers the fundamentals. Paint correction is taught in our Sanding and Polishing Workshop, and coatings in our Ceramic Coating Workshop.
Can this help me start a detailing business?
Yes. You leave with a professional workflow, product and equipment knowledge and a certificate, which is a strong foundation for detailing for customers.
Is Detailing 101 taught in Spanish?
Detailing 101 is taught in English. Our Curso de Lijado y Pulido is taught 100% in Spanish.
