How to Choose the Right Detailing Chemical

Start with the job, then the surface. For washing, a pH neutral car soap is safe for regular washes on waxed or coated paint, while an alkaline snow foam or pre wash loosens heavy dirt before you touch the paint.

Wheels collect brake dust and road grime, so they need a dedicated wheel cleaner. Acid formulas handle heavy buildup on durable finishes, and non acid cleaners are the safer everyday choice.

Inside the car, match the cleaner to the material: an all purpose cleaner for plastics and vinyl, a leather cleaner and conditioner for seats, and a fabric cleaner or extractor shampoo for carpet.

Finish with protection, from a quick spray sealant to a long lasting ceramic coating. Concentrates cost more up front but make many gallons once diluted, so always follow the dilution on the label.

Questions

Detailing Chemicals FAQ

What chemicals do I need to detail a car?

A car wash soap, a wheel cleaner, an all purpose cleaner, a glass cleaner and a protection product such as a spray sealant or ceramic coating. Add an iron remover and clay before polishing or coating.

What is the difference between pH neutral and alkaline cleaners?

pH neutral products are gentle and safe for regular washes on waxed or coated paint. Alkaline cleaners cut heavy grime, bugs and grease, so they work as pre washes and degreasers. Dilute as directed and rinse well.

Are concentrated detailing chemicals worth it?

Yes, if you detail often. One bottle makes many gallons once diluted, which brings the cost per use way down. Always follow the dilution on the label.

Do PRO members save on chemicals?

Yes. Supreme PRO members get 15% off most detailing chemicals, including Koch-Chemie, PAICAR, Stinger, Symplex and P&S.

Can I buy these in store?

Yes. Shop at our Central Florida stores or order online with nationwide shipping.
